Things to consider to help in your investment in my Epoxy Resin Floral Preservation Art Pieces:
About Epoxy Resin:
Epoxy resin is a versatile material used in my art pieces for sealing, preserving flowers, and casting 3D sculptures. I work with liquid resin that cures into a solid piece, resembling glass with an acrylic feel. It is a durable material that lasts indefinitely. However, it may gradually amber/yellow due to UV exposure. While ambering is natural and unavoidable, keeping the piece away from sunlight and heat slows down this process.
Imperfections and Uniqueness:
Perfection cannot be guaranteed as each piece is handmade. Imperfections are expected, and I aim to transform florals and epoxy resin into unique and original art.
I exclusively opt for premium resin products that are 100% produced in the United States, which, although they may come with a higher price tag, provide unmatched structural integrity.
What contributes to the high cost of Resin Flower Preservation?
The expense of Deep Pour Epoxy Resin kits alone can surpass $300, while custom-made molds add another $300 to the investment. Silica gel, an essential material in the preservation process, comes at a minimum cost of $30 per bag, and multiple bags are often required to preserve an entire bouquet.
The intricate nature of the preservation work demands significant time, often spanning many days or even weeks for a single piece. Labor costs, including skilled craftsmanship, further contribute to the overall expense. Additionally, the use of protective wear, such as gloves and masks, comes with its own considerable cost.
Various tools, including orbital sanders, drills for mixing, heat guns, and vacuum chambers, are indispensable in the preservation process, each adding to the overall expenditure. Moreover, consumables like plastic cups for mixing, plastic sheeting, colorants, replacement molds, and other miscellaneous items contribute to the overall investment in creating these meticulously crafted resin-preserved flower pieces. The combination of these factors contributes to the justified pricing of Resin Flower Preservation.
